This is a translation project report of research on Protecting China’sGrottoes and Temples, which belongs to the kind of human and socialscientific projects. This chapter excerpted from “China Cultural Relics” is apart of the book written by Mr. Li Li. This chapter is mainly demonstratingin details the past and the present of many cultural relics in China such asancient Grottoes and Temples, and it also introduces such content as a kindof informative domestic writing.This translation project report totally consists of four parts; the firstpart is the introductory part, which is a brief description of excerptedchapter, including the introduction and background as well as significanceof the translation project. The second part is the elaboration of the originaltext, its background and content, the target readers, and the linguistic characteristics. The third part analyses the points of great difficulties andimportance via focusing on translation of specific terms, sentences andparagraph so as to illustrate the processing strategies and skills taken forthe interpretation and relationship between Buddhism and China. Thefourth part is the summaries and the lessons learned in the processing oftranslation, as well as issues which still remained to be addressed.
