Abstract/Summary:
Berlioz is not only an important composer, theorist and conductor of the FrenchRomantic Period, but also one of the the most important composers in the19thcentury’s history of European music. Berlioz, who was born with romance, unbridledemotion emotional and imaginative, is the pioneer composer of the Program Musicsymphony in the Romantic Period. His life has ups and downs. Failing in twomarriages and losing his son made him suffering and feeling extremely lonely in hisdaily life. With the unstable work and humble income which can not be guaranteed,Berlioz could do nothing but rely on script writing and music reviews for living. Butthe Berlioz works created a collection of the essence of the Romantic period, whoseunconventional style gives us a completely new listening experience. He advocatedthe Program Music, innovatively used fixed idea to express the conception of poetryand literature in the Symphonie Fantastique with the image of the music. Berlioz isthe creator of the new Program Music of symphony.
