Since Dong minority has its own language without wordage, the Dong people inherit their history culture, labour skills, quality education almost by dancing and singing. Especially in all kinds of local festivals, such as Double Third Festival, Coming and singing outside, Girl Festival, Firework Festival, Bullfight Festival, and so on, the Dong people come out to dance and sing songs so that the culture of Dong minority can be developed. These performances promote the art of song and dance, which pass on the stories of Dong minority in history and culture, and become a bright star in minority arts in China. From the performance form, style and its subject, we can see some different dance forms:the dance form, such as Duoye Dance, Pipa Dance, etc.; instrument dance form, like Lusheng Dance; property dance form, like, Clay Cattle Dance, Evil Dragon Dace, Lion Dance, and so on; and the dance with rhythm type, as Bamboo-tube Dance (LuoLuoDaDa), Carrying pole Dance, Bench Dance etc.. Among all these Dong minority singing and dancing, the rhythm-type dance is the most primary local performance which originates in Dong people’s living and laboring, puts up the people’s nature and style. So these are the mainstay of the research for the development of Dong minority singing and dancing. |
