As the economy is developing quickly and the investment environment is improving, the relations of Sino-Japanese exchanges in the political, economic and cultural fields in depth. So the employment opportunities have brought to Vocational Japanese students, but higher utility requirement in the Japanese language ability was raised. In recent years, the cause of Higher Vocational Japanese is developing rapidly.The textbooks construction in higher Vocational Japanese continues to be explored and made in perfect in order to meet the needs of personnel’s cultivation in Higher Vocational Japanese. Before we just used the Japanese textbooks of undergraduates for vocational college students. But now we have compiled the textbooks characterized by vocational Japanese. Compared with textbooks for undergraduates in colleges, textbooks for vocational colleges not only embody the common ground, but also have its own uniqueness in the knowledge structure. New Japanese pressed by Shanghai Foreign Language Education and Basic Japanese pressed by Shanghai Jiao tong University Publishing House are typical representatives.I make a comparative analysis of the two sets of textbooks by adopting documentary research, survey and comparative study in combination with constructivist theory, cross-cultural communication theory and psychology theories etc.The main body of the paper is made up of four parts. Part I is a foreword. It makes a brief introduction to the two sets of textbooks and summarizes the experience of some teachers and students who studied them. It also describes the significance in research, reviews the past literature, and decides the research methods. Part II is Comparison of the main design of the two sets of textbooks from the guiding ideology to textbooks framework. Guiding ideology analyzes their focuses by comparing the era of background and differences in target for the personnel cultivation. The textbooks framework summarizes the characteristics by comprising its catalog and appendix. PartⅢ is the comparison of textbook contents, including vocabulary, grammar system, texts, exercises, etc. Part IV is the conclusion and suggestion by summarizing the characteristics and disadvantages of the two sets of textbooks and make a suggestion to the textbooks construction in Higher Vocational Japanese from the overall design of the textbooks, vocabulary, and text’s content.
