The culture of Chinese scholars’stone, which was established by ancient Chinese scholars during the long term of history, is a culture form with distinct Chinese characteristics. The temperament of literati aesthetic artistic conception, the noble moral pursuit and the concept of the harmony between man and nature which it is representing make the culture of Chinese scholars’stone one of the delegates of China’s elite culture in the history. However, it becomes more and more estranged with us in the contemporary art context, which is not only because of the change of the subject, but also the obscure language which is used to describe it. As a result, to find the proper language to describe it to the modern people in order to make us better understanding of the culture of Chinese scholars’stone and the culture behind it is the main purpose of this paper. This paper is based on the research of the special art form and the cultural background of Chinese scholars’ stone. Using the help of Gestalt psychology theory, I try to explain the artistic and culture psychology of Chinese people of the Chinese scholars’stone, and try to find the connecting between Chinese scholars’stone and Chinese literati culture. This paper is starting from the analysis of the characteristic of Chinese scholars’stone, and then into the recertification of Chinese Literati’s medical aesthetic psychology toward Chinese scholars’stone. Through comparing the culture of Chinese scholars’stone with Chinese literati culture and explaining the obscure concepts such as Qiyun and Yijin with more explicit description, this paper will dispel the sense of distance of the modern people on Chinese classic art.
