The Research On Social Relief Of Hebei Countrysides Between1956and1966

After the founding of the People’s Republic of China, the Party and governmentwere busy in recovering the economy and all aspects of construction. At the sametime, the social vulnerable groups were in the concern all the time. And the socialassistance measures were carried on. However, the research on the assistancemeasures from1956to1966is one of the weakest periods. Thus this thesis tries to doresearch on this issue. This paper mainly introduces the general situation of the socialvulnerable groups in Hebei rural area. Besides, it make investigation on theconstruction of assistance system and measures. It is hoped to provide some referencefor the social assistance work nowadays.There are four parts in this paper, in addition to the introduction and conclusion.The first part introduces the general situation of the Hebei rural vulnerable groupfrom1956to1966, which is quite serious.The second part has an investigation in the constructions of the social reliefsystem.The third part mainly introduces the various social assistance activities fordifferent groups, which are carried by the Party and the government.The fourth part gives reflection on the features and shortcomings of theassistance, and makes an analysis on its influence and significance to modernassistance.Given all that, this paper draws the conclusion that the assistance in Hebei ruralareas from1956to1966is remarkable. Some of its ideas and practice are helpful andsignificant for our modern anti-poverty project and new rural construction.
