In cross-cultural communication heritage, Indonesia is known as a country of thousandislands with diverse ethnic and religious believes, which is the reason for many differencies inmany aspects of life, customs and traditions between Indonesian and Chinese culture, that iswhy culture differencies often can hold back the learning of the Chinese language, so thisthesis paper by means of strategies to overcome cultural differencies between China andIndonesia, aims to figure out most effective approaches and methods for learning Chineselanguage.This thesis paper begins with considering Indonesian particular cultural phenomena, forteachers to understand and grasp Chinese language teaching methods and cross-culturalcommunication connections, aims, objectives, error analysis, teaching practice and otherelements of teaching methology, providing comprehensive analisys of Chinese teachingmethodology and cultural differencies problems from many different angles. Withunderstanding Indonesia culture background and applying into Chinese language teachingcross-cultural communication, a teacher can choose the most effective methods to solveproblems that appeared while teaching Chinese language process in the classroom. Therefore,in the third chapter, the author considers present cultural differencies between China andIndonesia with regard to Chinese language teaching methodology. One of them, which cannotbe avoided in Chinese language teaching in Indonesia is religion culture differencies. AllIndonesian people are religious people, moreover, religion determines the lifestyle, way ofthinking, wearing clothes and eating habits. Different culture background can influence thelearner, in a way that he can get a bit of culture shock. Besides that, a teacher should payattention to mother and target languages traditional and social culture differences, this is oneof the efficacious method in Chinese language teaching methodology.Finally, the author explains methods of Chnese language teaching and strategies toovercome culture differencies between China and Indonesia. There are contrast analysismethod, culture analysis method, multimedia teaching method, teaching songs method,problematic method and observation method. Contrast analysis method is effective fordeveloping language sense of a learner and this method accentuates on the meaning of culturewords. Culture analysis method is how to explain relations between words which point culturephenomenon and knowledge of these culture phenomenon, a teacher can guide learners howto deal with different culture and different way of thinking. To increase perceptualknnowledge of learners, to increase interest and stimulate thinking, all this is the aim ofmlti-media method. Along with developing technologies in the world, and increasinginternalization of the Chinese language multi-media is more and more often used. In teachingChinese language practice this method is very effective one. Singing songs method can helpdevelop personal qualities of the learner. Moreover, singing songs method is a complextechnique which is by means of language and performance can help to understand art of thetarget language master language skills, and can create cheerful atmosphere. Problematicmethod is charecrerized by freedom of the learner, it can help to stimulate the learnersmotivation, make learners to feel free to express themselves and stimulate their thinking.Observation method is about to receive audio-visual personal experience. On the work field teacher should conduct learners to use Chinese language for communication. This method iscreative but in Indonesia the usage of this method is limited, so the teacher should createChinese atmosphere in the classroom.In short, the aforementioned explaines methods of teaching which can improve Chineselevel of the learners, stimulate interest for learning, improve the languange capacity of thelearner, and make the learner to use (International angle of view to observe the world) and(International soul to travel aroud the globe) to accept another culture. To sum up, payingattention to culture differencies in chinese language teaching process is playing a significantrole in developing teaching Chinese language as a foreign language.
