Research On SuiShiYiWen

SuishiYiWen is an excellent one among Chinese classical novels, but it hasn’t been printedduring past three hundred years, and as a result, no attention was paid to it. Sun Kaidi saw thisnovel in Japan in1930s. Chinese-American scholar Xia Zhiqing propelled the republish ofthis novel in1975, not till then did SuishiYiWen catch eyes again. Researches on this novel arestill not sufficient currently, so it’s necessary to make an intensive study of it.Yuan Yuling, the reviser of SuishiYiWen, was a talented wit. He revised this novel on basisof the old version according his own ideas and thoughts. First of all, This novel emerged in acertain social background, the experiences of the reviser had undoubtedly influenced theformation of this novel. Second, in the ideological level, the reviser’s writing idea was ratherpositive in that time, and so did the novel’s main idea, also, the idea of “knight” played arather important role in this novel. Third, in the aspect of artistic expression, this novelshowed its well manipulation in the composing of characters, narrative structures, and theusage of language. At last, SuishiYiWen had a far-reaching impact on later literature in theme,content and writing technique.
