Taoism regards the Tao (the way) as the ultimate faith, and pursues combine with the Tao. As a polytheism religion, Taoism also worships many goddesses and female immortal beings. They exist in its hagiographies. This paper bases upon the hagiographies, considers the relationship between Taoism and female, and analyses the female immortal beings worship in Taoism under the framework of religious theory, Taoism theology, mythology methods.The first chapter briefly introduces goddesses and female immortal beings worship. It explain the meaning of god (shen) and immortal being (xian).it also offers theoretical explanation, including female theory perspective as well as mythology’s view.The second chapter focuses on hagiographies and female immortal beings. The biographical tradition influences the Taoism, this chapter categories important hagiographies and female immortal beings in Taoism. The third chapter analyses the motif of these hagiographies. The narrative units include the female immortal beings magic power, charity devotion, filial piety, suffrage, practice, marriage and psychology.The final chapter states the features and meanings of the worship. It focuses on the dominant theme of hagiographies. It also implies the traits of harmony with Confucianism and Buddhism, the tendency of ethical and secular in Taoism.
