Abstract/Summary:
Since the beginning of the new century, the rapid development ofChinese film industry has become a major highlight in the film andtelevision industry. The future development of Chinese film has become akind of common focus both in academia and the film industry.Mainstream movies have become a pillar of the Chinese film market. Onone hand, the theme of mainstream films mostly reflect the mainstream ofthe China’s current culture in line with the requirements of themainstream ideology; On the other hand, mainstream films meet the basicrequirements of Motion Picture Arts and artistic creations of the movie.Therefore, a successful mainstream movie is a model for Chinese films,which unified the ideologies, arts and ornamentals.This article mainly describes the perspective of the development andthinking on mainstream movies, to explore the sublimation of mainstreamfilms in the context of the commercialized transformation. The first partfocuses on the basic concepts and the development of transmutation onmainstream films. To do further research, we should first clarify the basicconcepts of mainstream movies. In addition, this article also compares the mainstream movies with Main-melody movies, commercial films and theart movies. The part is to sort out the similarities and differences betweendifferent types of movies, which lay the theoretical foundation for furtherexploring the mainstream movies`personality problem.The second and third parts are the main points of this article, theinterpretation of the mainstream movie regression and strengthening ofartistic expression, along with the rise of consumerism andcommercialized transformation of mainstream movies. In terms of artisticexpression on mainstream movies, I summarize mainly through thefollowing aspects, including the mainstream film narrative content andnarrative strategies, the rational regression of mainstream moviescharacters, the changes in the expression of mainstream movies visuallanguage. About the rise of consumerism and transformation of themainstream movies, I summarize three aspects, which are consumerculture and the culture of consumerism, different needs of the audiencefor mainstream movies`culture consumption and a variety of marketingunder the commercialized transformation on mainstream movies.The last part of the thesis is to do some reflections and suggestionsin the future development of mainstream movies. In order to achieve theleap-forward development of the Chinese mainstream movies, we shouldpay much attention to the cultural parts in mainstream moviesconnotation, and enhance the cultural connotations of mainstream movies. With the deepening development of the commercialization andindustrialization of China’s film market, the development of mainstreammovies should face up to the laws of the market, driven and perfectedfilm institution-building. To let mainstream film really "go out", issue thevoice belongs to China. The mainstream movies should learn from thesuccessful experience of the movies of Hollywood historical themes andtry to open up overseas markets. Although there are many deficiencies inthe study and discussion of this article for the mainstream movies, I stillhope that, from the above point of view as well as the history and currentsituation of China’s mainstream movies, I can dedicate my efforts to thetheoretical discussion of mainstream movies.
