China is a multi-ethnic condensed into a multi-ethnic country,the national “Chinese” identity in the coagulation processplayed a role that can not be ignored. As a branch of the EastXianbei, Murong Xianbei occupies an important position in thehistory of the Sixteen Kingdoms period. On the basis of MurongXianbei family history, we select psychological identificationangle, and try to study the problem of “Chinese” identity.In ancient China, the meaning of “China” is not single, bothalleged “geographical meaning of Central Plains”, and “Han”ethnic meanings, also have cultural meaning of “princes razedceremony the barbarians, the barbarians into China then Chinese”,sometimes also used to refer to the regime, and so on. Therefore,this paper discussed the “Chinese” identity of Murong Xianbei,it contains many aspects.The self-proclaimed “China” as a symbol of national identity,is the most important part of the “Chinese” identity. Nationalidentity in the content includes two main aspects, which are the ethnic identity as the basis of self-proclaimed “Chinese people”and the legitimacy of the identity as the representative ofself-proclaimed “Orthodox”. The self-proclaimed “Chinesepeople” identity is the basic form, and the self-proclaimed“orthodox” political identity is the highest form of nationalidentity. In order to prove that the orthodox position of the newregime to undertake the Han Emperor system, Murong Xianbeidominators think that the nation’s ancestors and the Hannationality people share the same Ancestor, by Tracing the source,establishing Deyun and advocating the “divine right of kings”,The national ideology, since the Han Dynasty “onlyConfucianism”, Confucianism became the orthodox ideology of Hanregime. Confucianism emphasizes “benevolence benevolent”, paysattention to “rites and music” and the cultural inheritance“make no social distinctions in teaching “idea. And the MurongXianbei’s Confucianism identity is mainly reflected in theseaspects. Through the Murong Xianbei dominators respectedConfucianism and advocated the Confucian thoughts into govern thecountry, and the Confucianism has gradually become the guidingideology of Murong Xianbei’s ethics and daily behavior. “Chinese traditional customs” refer to the Han ethnic customsincluding the customs of ethnic minorities before the northern andSouthern Dynasties. But due to the national minority as a part ofChina was not the acknowledgement in academia, therefore, thispaper is acknowledged as the main representative of the ChineseHan nationality customs as the research object, mainly discussesMurong Xianbei identity of traditional customs emperor of Chinaand daily life dress ornaments and funeral customs. In order toprove that Murong Xianbei’s identity of China has been differentfrom the consciousness permeate everyday life aspects.In a word,Chinese identity of Murong Xianbei, including the various national,the state, ideology, customs and so on, which is an important partof China and the powerful evidence in Sixteen States Period.
