| Reading significantly promote the mental health of university students.Theresearch is based on the study of bibliotherapy and positive psychological theorys.ThisPaper makes a study on university students from UESTC by using “MultipleHapppiness Questionnaire(MHQ)â€(Yuanjiang Miao,2003),“Simplified Coping StyleQuestionnaireâ€(Yaning Xie,1998) and“University Students’ Reading MotivationQuestionnaireâ€(Xiaoli Chen,2010). In this thesis, through Correlation Analysis of thereading attitude and coping style, Multiple Happpiness,the relationship of readingattitude and sense of happiness is discussed.The result of the reseach indicate that:1.Reading motivation significantly positively related to positive coping andMultiple happiness.2.There are significant difference between University students with extracurricularreading and those with few extracurricular reading in coping styles (positive coping)and well-being(life satisfaction, vitality, self-worth, friendly relations, personal growth,subjective well-being, psychological well-being, Multiple happiness).3. Positive readers,which the amount of reading is more than12per year,comparedwith others,their’s positive emotions, vitality, subjective well-being, Multiple Happinesshigher than the non-positive read, reach statistically significant level.Based on the analysis and discussion of the relationship between universitystudents’ reading and well-being, the research suggest that positive impact on happinessbased on the intrinsic motivation to read. Concerning for self-growth needs, concerning"the sophomore phenomenonâ€, to understand the needs of university students, offering awide range of extra-curricular reading boot, providing targeted REVIEW will promoteextracurricular reading to carry out, and will help university students to take morepositive coping style and to be with a higher level of happiness. Then the improvedreasearch are proposed. |
