Although prose has long source, but only in the late Ming dynasty, it began to glow its unique charm. Prose in late Ming dynasty was a distinct personality among the different colour phenomenon literature in late Ming dynasty.It was inseparable with the social environment of the late Ming dynasty itself and its historical background.The popular saying of heart and soul in the late Ming dynasty was different from the previous literary theory. A rich material life, relaxed regulation of the ban, the movement of the hearts of men and cultural foundation for the reality added clever vitality to the prose. Among them, Zhang Dai’s prose held its own flag, not only at that time but respect still remains after hundreds of years. Zhang Dai as a scholar between the two dynasties, suffered from the ways of the world difficulties. The two were very different life, this gap was ultimately reflected in his work, deep and rich.As the late Ming dynasty the prose synthesizer, his status is unshakable. Mr. Liang Rongluo gave him very high evaluation in his book "Twenty writers’ biography".He considered Zhang Dai as one of the20astronomers in China. As one of the unique writers in late Ming dynasty, through his research, we can better grasp of the late Ming dynasty literature in the whole. His papers, no matter in the aesthetic value or literature value has undeniable position. Then upon the experience of pain, the breakthrough in the service of spiritual expression category, made his prose different from the others. From the further reading of his prose, we hope to be able to make an objective and fair evaluation to him and peep to him as a representative of the people’s heart in late Ming dynasty.This paper hopes to have a deep understanding and grasp for the prose in the late Ming dynasty through the study of his papers.
