With the rapid development of the information society and the development of economic globalization, the relationship between china and foreign countries continue to increase. English as a global language, has long been the introduction of foreign advanced technology, strengthen the communication between people, draw lessons from foreign advanced management ideas and important ways and means. Higher vocational education occupies an indispensable position in our country’s higher education system, and it is the important component of higher education. It plays a very important role in developing specialized talented person, promoting the state and local economic and social development and strengthening external communication. This requires pay more attention to higher vocational colleges, especially the communication with foreign countries. In face of the existing problems in English teaching of higher vocational colleges, how to strengthen English teaching in higher vocational college, especially English teaching level, and improve the quality of higher vocational college English teaching, become an urgent problem.The paper takes students in Grade2010and2011of Changchun Vocational Institute of Technology as the research object. By using case analysis method, literature information method, inquisition method and comparative research method, the writer analysis present situation of public English teaching respectively from training goal, learners, teachers, teaching program, teaching material, education technology and teaching evaluation of The foreign language education. And it also puts forward to set up reasonable public English teaching of the training goal, create good learning environment, increase students’interest in learning, to cultivate the students’self-learning ability, for teachers to create chance for further study in higher vocational colleges, perfect public English syllabus, make full use of network, multimedia education in teaching reform, summarizing evaluation way. to take a variety of forms to assess. Further optimize of higher vocational English teaching and improve teaching quality, in order to adapt to the development of society and the needs of economic construction.
