In the current high school Chinese teaching, the dominating teaching method isstill traditional, which is characterized by teachers explaining and students doing roteexercise. Thus, students have few opportunities to use the language. Furthermore, thetextbook, lesson schedule, examination and assessment system all have negativeimpact over students’ study of the Chinese language. All the above factors lead to thelow interest and passive performance in the study of the Chinese language.Consequently foreign students can not make great improvement in learning theChinese language. It’s no surprise the teaching efficiency and learning atmosphere islow. After the analysis of the present teaching situation, the introduction of thestudents in international division and the elaboration of international educationphilosophy, the idea of adopting the task-based approach in the current Chineseteaching comes up to my mind. Task-based approach has been proved effective in thesecond language acquisition. Students studying this way shows more initiative andmore tendency to speak, thus their oral Chinese improve more quickly. Consequentlythe teaching efficiency has great improvement. In the thesis, I elaborate why taskbased approach fit in with the international education philosophy and meet the needsof international students. To further illustrate this issue, I design an Oral Chinese lesson of apre-intermediate level in task-based approach and make an analysis of its effect. Afterthat, I make a questionnaire about the task-based approach and get the feedback fromthe students and teachers. Finally I summarize this teaching method and suggest somestrategies for improvement. In the thesis, a wide variety of research method is applied including, documentation, case study and questionnaire, which helps me make a complete anddeep analysis of the efficiency of task-based approach used in Oral Chinese teachingin high school international division from varied angles. |
