Entering new stage of new century, with continued rapid growth in Chinese economy and further extension in opening up to the outside world, occupancy of tourism industry in international market and international arena is increased year by year, and China will become the first inbound country and the largest domestic tourism market in the world in 2015. An increasing number of foreigners expect to know brilliant 5000-year-old Chinese culture via tourism, which stimulates Chinese language warming up around the world. Tourism Chinese, as new subject of Chinese for special purpose, is increasingly emphasized in academia; compared with general Chinese teaching, tourism Chinese teaching is of greater specialty and practicality, and teaching key points stress learning and correctly using language in cross-culture tourist activities, so importance of teaching spoken tourism Chinese is self-evident. Viewed from current situation of teaching spoken tourism Chinese in China, a series of problems are to be solved, such as teaching objects are not subdivided, oral course books are not systemic, there is not specialized training, teachers are in lack of accumulation of professional knowledge, and so on. Aiming at above problems, the author introduced one teaching approach broadly used in second language teaching, namely task-based teaching approach. Under theoretical direction of the approach, the author desired to apply the approach in teaching spoken tourism Chinese to find a new way to solve problems, to cover the shortage, to improve teaching quality and to explore the development of teaching spoken tourism Chinese.The whole thesis is divided into six chapters. The first chapter is introduction, introducing background, purpose and significance of the topic, research subject, research content, research method and innovation points of the research. The second chapter is summary of domestic and foreign related researches, trimming and inducing research of domestic and foreign academics on task-based teaching, and related articles of tourist Chinese teaching in China. The third chapter, aiming at current situation of teaching spoken tourism Chinese in China, deeply analyzes existing problems from aspects of subject, coursebook, teachers, classroom situation and so on, and proposes solution suggestions. The fourth chapter demonstrates advantages of infusing task-based teaching approach in teaching spoken tourism Chinese, states implementing principles in practical teaching process and requirements on coursebook and teacher, and demonstrates feasibility of practice of task-based teaching approach in teaching spoken tourism Chinese. The fifth chapter is conclusion and deficiency of research.
