In the process of learning the Chinese language, there are many factors that canaffect whether the learner can successfully learn Chinese. The teaching mode is one of theimportant factors. Before multimedia entered into the process of teaching, People have beenusing traditional teaching methods, which can cause great limitations during the teachingprocess.At present, multimedia has become the fastest developing information technology, it iswidely used in many aspects, and teaching is one of its most widely used aspect.The first year student of university, facing the differences of learning style between the seniorhigh school and the university, must adapt to university learning styles, such as self-study,discussion and reflection. The student must also reflect about the problems they might face.Psychologists have proven that the learning content is one of the important motivations inarousing the interesting of the learner. Creating interest in learning is particularly importantfor the first year student of university. The use of multimedia technology in teaching a class,with regards, diagrams, text, sound, images can be integrated, so that teaching and learningactivities become more colourful, and also can greatly stimulate the students’ interest.That is why, the researcher of this topic thinks that using multimedia in teaching plays agreater role. However a good design of multimedia courseware is neceSsary, in other words,the multimedia courseware product quality is directly related to classroom teachingeffectiveness.
