A Study Of Literary Works Selection Principle In TCFL Intensive Reading Textbooks Of Advanced Level

After the debate of “whether literary works should enter into theteaching materials” in the90’s within TCFL circle, now scholars basicallyagree that literary works should enter into the senior TCFL textbooks.Firstly, this study used literature study method and concludes that atpresent literary works in the selection and selection principles are stilllack of systematic research in TCFL intensive reading textbooks ofadvanced level. Therefore, from the perspective of teaching materialeditor, this study used statistical analysis, discovers the main problems inthree sets of TCFL textbooks in advanced level, such as literary worksselected principle have no unified standards, the control of difficultycoefficient isn’t good enough; too much prose and novels; lack of registerinnovation; poor interesting. Finally, this paper mainly adopts themethods of statistical analysis and questionnaires. Based on thequestionnaire to the teaching material in the literature text length,quantity of vocabulary, genre and register, theme, subject matter, era,teaching material appearance, interestingness, etc. the author believes thatthe editor should follow these principles:(1) acceptability principle;(2)the cultural principle;(3) diversity principle;(4) mainly modern worksprinciple;(5) authentic principle;(6) compensating principle;(7) interesting principle;(8) moderation principles. In addition, this paperalso proposed two extensibility Suggestions: to establish appreciationworks library for the purpose of improving the students abroad inaesthetic and appreciation of Chinese literature; and to establishcross-cultural theme reading library that improve the ability ofcommunication. Based on my own selection principles, the author comesup with two conceptual schemes to complete the selection principles.
