Study On The Rhetoric Of Shuo Yuan

This paper is intended to select Shuo Yuan as the object, on the basis of previous study, Atopic of this paper focuses on a more comprehensive and thoroughgoing discussion on ShuoYuan from the perspective of rhetoric, attempts to compensate the lack of comprehensivestudy for the rhetoric of Shuo Yuan. The paper is divided into four chapters.The first chapter is exordium. First, this chapter will make a brief introduction such asthe author、how the book formed、the compilation and the rhetoric study profiles of Shuo Yuanand so on, then define the origin of the artic, significance and method of this research.The second chapter about rhetorical application of Shuo Yuan, this chapter combs andanalyzes systematically rhetoric about Shuo Yuan, inducts that there are14types the mainrhetoric in the book. Based on their specific structures, the rhetoric in Shuo Yuan are dividedinto the following aspects to study: The first category is “rhetoric of semantic”, whichconcentrates on the analyzing of analogy, quotation, metonymy and exaggeration thatappeared in Shuo Yuan. The second category is “rhetoric of arrangement” which studiesparallelism, comparison, antithesis and thimble that used in Shuo Yuan. The other rhetoricincludes description, allegory, suspicion, epigram, repetition and climax, which occupy someof the whole rhetoric, will be analyzed in more detail. Based on the detailed description of allthe rhetoric that appeared in Shuo Yuan, furthermore, the paper summarizes the characteristicabout the rhetoric in the book.The third chapter discusses the ways of applying words precisely and the selection ofsentences in Shuo Yuan. Firstly, the using of substantive includes the choosing of synonymand the exercise of antonym. The next section is function word, the paper mainly discussesthe modal particles and affix. Finally, the application of sentence patterns, which reflects inthe choosing of tone and the changing of forms.The fourth chapter elaborates chapter of framework article and artistic characteristics.The framework of Shuo Yuan is very special, this chapter analyzes it from construction of thebook and model of chapters’rhetoric in order to reveal the art of chapters’rhetoric in Shuo Yuan.Next, from the art of narrative, descriptive characteristics as the breakthrough point, the paperwill grasp comprehensively the artistic achievements in Shuo Yuan. The conclusion discussed the rhetorical features of Shuo Yuan, the advantages anddisadvantages about this paper and the assumption of post-research.
