He Dun’s novel has two theme, one is urban desire and the other is revolutionaryhistory. Analysis his urban desire theme from desire view and desire expression, wecan draw that the novel of He Dun’s urban desire theme mainly show in three aspects:crazy worship to money, extreme expansion to sexual and deny to the ideal.In orderto achieve the purpose of desire narration, He Dun’s urban novel using the way ofphysicochemical characters(the greeding citizen at the bottom of the society andsecular intellectuals) and the underlying sensory narrative way(dialect writing and ascene of narrative strategies). In He Dun’s urban desires novel," Underworld " is notonly the continuation of the desire but also at the top of all his urban desires novel."Underworld" has been called of "The Godfather" of china. Both of" Underworld"and" the godfather" are writing the Gang theme, but different in characters andcultural value orientation. Compare reading of the" Underworld" and" thegodfather",we can know the feature of He Dun’s urban novels more clearly and moreaccurately.If people can feel losing cause of expansion desire in He Dun’s urban desirenovel, then in " resistance",his revolutionary historical novel, the authors designed afolk hero, whose name is"Huang Kangri ", hoping rebuilt the faith on the simplemoral emotion in agricultural society without pollution of modern industry and socialcapital. It is based on individual life and the warm of simple moral emotional in thefolk, convey a new values of folk individual. However, facing social reality and thenew Class differentiation, the kind of simple village moral, cannot afford theresponsibe to save the trust crisis between people and burden spiritual homereconstruction. Huang Kangri’s tragic fate indicate that the imple individualconsciousness in agricultural era is a dirge of the contemporary. In his narrative way,Not only that He Dun learn the creation concept from the Yuan Dynasty novels, butalso using a variety of modernist techniques, including polyphonic and intertextuality,what makes the whole novel abundant and stereoscopic. After "Resisters", He Dunfinally bid farewell to a mode of single linear narrative, and from a sentimentalliterary writer to a mature one.He Dun is not good at writing female characters, hardly any comments from afeminist point of view to study He Dun ’s literary creation. However, in his newnovel "Hunan mule", he carefully shaped a women, whose name is He Xiumei,impressed a lot to readers. The author deeply into the inner character, extremely carefully writing the special love and hate, pride and inferiority of femininepsychology, what can compare with Wang Anyi, Tie Ning and other famous femalewriter.
