This thesis bases on Hegel’sunderstanding of laws of history to elaborate Hegel’ Thought of Laws of History andits theoretical value.For the first part, it narrates the society background in Hegel’ life anddifferentiates and analyzes the basic characteristics and manifestations of laws ofhistory in different historical period.For the second part，it summarizes Hegel’ basic content on thought of laws ofhistory. Hegel utilized the basic motive power of historical development, human’ rolein historical process, and historical realities to explain the law that history developsfrom junior to senior level and uncover the inner inevitable connection hidden fromthe complex social phenomenon.For the third part, it appraises Hegel’ thought of laws of history by explaining itsrationality and limitation.
