The Design Research For9to12Years Old Children’s Sports Toy

The children’s toy industry started in the late1980s in our country,which is belong to the labor-intensive, got some achievements after thedevelopment of recent decades. It still has very big development spacefrom the situation of the current market. As the status of domesticchildren’s group in the social and family is rising, there are many kinds ofchildren’s toy gradually appear in market. But there are some problem ofdesigning in some of children’s toy, that lack the corresponding designresearch, it is worth to discuss by relevant researchers as the part ofindustrial design field.This paper is illustrated by the example of researching scooter that isbelong to movement toys, analysed the reason of choosing scooter as theproduct, classified the scooter in present market as seven categories. Andthen according to related subject, decide nine to twelve years older childrenas the user crowd to be researched from the Child Psychology andEthology, explore the movement type of nine to twelve years older children from mental characteristics of individual. After that put the movement typeof active and moderate children as the main research object. In view ofthese two type of children, using interview, questionnaire, observation,image acquisition and so on as the ways of user research, graduallyobtained the behaviour pattern of nine to twelve years older children, theneed dimension of scooter between nine to twelve years older children andthe design factors of scooter between nine to twelve years older children.On the basis of the front research, the results will be applied to theactual design case, then design the scooter to fit the need of nine to twelveyears older children, that made the whole process of research become moreperfect through the combination of theory with practice. It provide somehelp for the person who are engaged in the children’s user research anddeveloping related product of children.
