Research On Su Tingyu With His Works

Su Tingyu ((1783—1852),he came from TongAn town of Fujian. He was children of Su Song, who was a famous Prime Minister of Song Dynasty. He made a desperate effort to study and become a Jinshi in The Jiaqing Dynasty.To his appointment, Su Tingyu was be generous to people and always studious of his business. During thirty years in politics, he was faithful to duty and had a quite good reputation in his way. After being relieved of his office, Su Tingyu still took an interest in the current situation. He was eager to do whatever was in the interests of the state, for example, he loved engraving and collecting ancestors’works. Su Tingyu’s poems and essays on training、 shipbuildings resisting the enemy and defending national frontier were valuable.He made friends with a nice group of men and had led a full life. We can say that Su Tingyu was playing such an important role in modern time of Chinese history, especially in Fujian. However, research on Su Tingyu is very few. Based on the historical data, this paper adopts the method of documentation science, only to give a comprehensive and objective display of the historical figure. We divide it into three parts as follows, Su Tingyu’s life and his book collection,the research on Su Tingyu’s works,the offical company about him.
