In this paper, coordinating with the characteristics of the art of interactive visualinstallation, with the in-depth survey and analysis of the current situation of the autisticchildren in Qiqihar Star&Baby Autism Convalescence Center, we have designed aninteractive visual installation which is suitable for the autistic children. Carried on theinterdisciplinary and theoretical study on the characteristics of the autistic children and the artof interactive visual installation, and probed into the intervention by the interactive visualinstallation in the autistic children. Meanwhile, this paper analyzes whether the practicalapplication of this interactive visual installation which is suitable for the autistic children arefeasible, demonstrates the intervention of interactive visual installation from the point ofpractice, and combining the theory and practice, and combining the theory and practice,demonstrates the practical application of the art of interactive visual installation.This study is divided into three main parts:The purposeful survey and analysis are done through concluding, extracting andsummarizing the characteristics and behaviors of the autistic children. The scale of this surveyis among the autistic children in Qiqihar Star&Baby Autism Convalescence Center who arefive to ten years old and their parents. With the methods of observing, interviewing andquestionnaire, we investigate and build the data bank of autistic children. The investigationconcludes that the autistic children need and environment which is fit for them and canavoid the questionable behaviors.This study demonstrates its intervention in the autistic children by analyzing the threemain features of the art of interactive visual installation, which are interaction, extensity andimmersion. With the method of interdisciplinary and theoretical study, it reaches that theattention of the autistic children can be attracted, the appearance of abnormal behaviors can bereduced and their ability of communication can be strengthened, if they immerse in theatmosphere which is made by the art of interactive visual installation. By the comparison andanalysis of the colors which are loved by the autistic and normal children, utilizing themethods of questionnaire and observing, we come to a conclusion that the autistic childrenlike the high-purity and high-contrast colors more than the normal children. Associating with the theoretical study, we have designed an interactive visual installationwhich is suitable for the autistic children, and surveyed the applying feedback of thisinstallation. We proved that this interactive visual installation can reduce, even eliminate theabnormal behaviors of the autistic children. Thus, it can be concluded that the interactivevisual installation can intervene the abnormal behaviors of the autistic children effectively,and then supply the reference and foundation for the theoretical study, excogitation, practiceand innovation which the art of interactive visual installation intervenes the autistic childrenwith.
