Exploration Of Arold Jacobs’ Brass Playing Technique And Teaching Method

This paper is the exploration of Arnold Jacobs’great brass playing technique and also his improved teaching method. Try to summarize some main points for further analyzing and deep study. While learning the modern western brass playing technique and teaching theory, I tried to put the knowledge into daily practicing and teaching. Testify the practical and advanced usage of these theories by way of practice. Brass student rarely have the opportunity to appreciate the works of a great pedagogue. This time I am lucky to read Brass Master Arnold Jacobs’work and his students’essay about him, I really treasure this opportunity. After translating some works of him, I summarized some main points of brass playing and brass teaching, including put psychology and physiology into playing and teaching, pay attention to breathing and mouthpiece during daily practice, etc.
