The Study Of The Brass Antique Mirror In Ming Dynasty

Brass antique mirror first appeared in the Tang Dynasty and developed so far, as a special value category of brass. Brass antique mirror is produced by some different cultures collision and mixing together. This article studies the method of identifying the brass antique mirror of the Ming Dynasty, helps us to know the social economy and culture of the Ming Dynasty. Brass antique mirror is the important part of all the bronze mirror in the Ming Dynasty, and also is the most typical of all the brass antique mirror. We can use the production method of the Ming Dynasty antique bronze mirror to recall the historical development of brass mirror, because the bronze mirror had dead out after the glass mirror appeared.This paper is studied by using basic cultural heritage research way. I first have collected the information of the Ming Dynasty’s brass antique mirror that comes from the dig and collection. Then I take steps to research those information, included classification, comparison and summaries, in order to sum up the main characteristic of the Ming Dynasty brass antique mirror. The study helps us to identify the Ming Dynasty brass antique mirror in the future. We can know the Ming Dynasty history and some cultures about the brass mirror via the main characteristic.This paper divides into six chapters. The chapter one introduces the Ming Dynasty brass antique mirrors research purpose and meaning, and review the history of previous study. The chapter two introduces the type and quantity of the brass mirror that copied the Han Dynasty bronze mirror. The chapter three introduces the type and quantity of the brass mirror that copied the Sui and Tang Dynasty bronze mirror. The chapter four introduces the type and quantity of the brass mirrors that copied the Song and Jin Dynasty bronze mirror. The chapter five introduces the identifying method of the Ming Dynasty brass antique mirrors. The chapter six introduces my notion about the Ming Dynasty brass antique mirror.
