In the history of European military, Hannibal has undoubtedly occupied a very important position. He is one of Europe’s four famous general with Alexander, Caesar, Napoleon, and he is also the pedigree of European tactics to surround and annihilate. In the second Punic War, he led an army whose strength was far less than Roman Carthaginian army alone in-depth into the Roman hinterland of Italy. In the next ten years, he had brilliant achievements in war and left behind a classic examples handed down,such as the Tracy Miele Lake battle and the Cannae victory. Although Hannibal embarked on exile and chose the road of grief suicide because of the defeat in Zama battle, the glory of his life is undeniable. His principles of military operations and the art of commanding have a great and far-reaching impact on the future.The thesis is composed of three parts by the introducti on, the body and the conclusion:The Introduction introduces the research results at home and abroad on the principle of Hannibal’s military forces and command art. Some books of Hannibal’s military thinking are enumerated.The first part discusses use of forces principle of Hannibal. In the Second Punic War, Hannibal went on an expedition in Italy for more than ten years and he often won. He took preemptive measures and decided the first attack to enter Italy. By large diversionary tactics his army succeeded in throwing off the pursuit of the Romans and mastering initiative on the battlefield. He demoralized the Italian League in order to weaken the strength of Rome. Hannibal’s great principles of the military forces had made Italy not met opponents over ten years.The second part discusses the art of commanding of Hannibal in detail.. During the war with Italy, although Hannibal led the Carthaginian army whose strength was far less than the Romans, he also repeatedly defeated this powerful enemy. The management of the army, the use of cavalry, the use of terrain and the excellent use of tactics to surround and annihilate were the key to defeat a powerful enemy.The third part states the impact of Hannibal’s principles of military forces and art of commanding comprehensively. Hannibal was later known as "the father of the strategy", and majority of famous general fell down in adoration. Numerous military strategist had an research on the strategy and tactics of Hannibal, and they are still enduring now. Undoubtedly, Hannibal is one of the strategist who have most far-reaching impact on the future in military history.In order to prove the worthy of Hannibal’s military forces and command art, The conclusion will form a forceful contrast between Hannibal and foreign history star. Hannibal is worthy of the title of "strategic Father"...
