The Research Of The Military Ethics In Mozi

The thesis explores the military ethics in Mozi. Its ethical thoughts are summed up by Mozi and his students through the military practice, so his military thoughts are affected by the existence state of the thinkers and their cultural knowledge, then it shows very unique splendor.On this base, the author studies the military ethics in Mozi from the following aspects:"the war ethics","the strategic ethics", and"the commanding officer ethics". In this paper, the author tries to emerge the exploratory fruits of Mozi and his students completely. As far as the part of the war ethics, Mozi expresses the guidable thoughts such as"Universal Love and No Invading"through the exploration on the ethical cause, the ethical results, the ethical evaluation and the moral responsibility of the war. As far as the part of the strategic ethical thoughts, Mozi carries out the strategic thoughts of"No Invading"towards strong countries, and"govern one's own country well and keep good relations with foreign countries"towards small countries so as to realize the values of"try to make the common interests of the whole world prosperous". As far as the part of the commanding officer ethics, Mozi claims the commanding officers should"advocate the talents and use the able"; and"have the same opinion with the upper class".All of these military ethics included in Mozi have being put into practice by the later generation. Certainly, it can't be equal to the truth after all, and it has the limitations belonging to the thinkers themselves and the whole times. So we should absorb these thoughts of Mozi, and learn to eliminate the false and retain the true, hence to use the essence to serve our human being today.
