In the past, people always thought that translation was changing one language into another. Therefore, in the course of translation from English to Chinese, the translators tended to translate the original text word by word. As a result, the translation was in eclipse. In recent years, people have paid more and more attention to the importance of context on E-C translation and the essays about context and translation increase gradually. The author is also struck by it in the process of translating. So by referring to some scholars’ research results, the essay divides context into linguistic context, situational context and cultural context, discusses in detail its influence on English words translation by many examples the author picks up in her translating. It is of a certain theoretical and practical significance:reviewing the Context Theory systematically; reminding the translator to reduce mistranslation and deliver translations closer to the original text by fully considering the context in translating.
