This paper studies the teaching approaches of Chinese adverbs to the students from Middle Asian countries of Xinjiang Normal University. The paper focuses on how to teach Chinese adverbs to the students from Middle Asian countries effectively and systemically, trying to research the feasibility and validity of the Hourglass Approach.This experiment report can be divided into six parts. The foreword introduces the aim, the contents and so on, of the experiment. The second part focuses on the theories that are used in this experiment, like the Hourglass Approach, linguistics, pedagogy, psychology. The third part indicates the process of the experiment and methods applied in analyzing the results. The forth part sums up the result of this experiment, analyzing data collected and introducing relative theories. The fifth part draws a conclusion for this experiment. The appendix displays test papers, scores of the students, teacher’s teaching log and so on.According to the result of experiments, the Hourglass Approach is good for the students from Middle Asian countries to learn Chinese adverbs.
