Half of the12th century to the end of Thirteenth century in China was another great splitperiod following the Northern and Southern Dynasties。During this period,Jurchen andMongolian have established the regime in the northern region successively,confronting withSouthern Song Dynasty government according to the Huai he River as the boundary。In thistime, the Gentiles and the Hans from the Central Plain because of many reasons had to leavetheir native land and migrate to the unfamiliar southern。People called them reformed peoplewhich was a highly discriminatory name.The reason of reformed people coming back to southern were that they supported thenational government、love their mother Country,and discriminated Alien rulers affected bythe traditional Confucian concept and hoped to escape brutalizing policies。So,they couldmake decision to leaving their home town and migrate to the unfamiliar southern firmly.Without any permission,they went from the regime to another hostile regime.Becauseof their special status, they often played an important impact on bilateral relations。Inaddition,the Reformed people was also the important issues in the Government affairs forSouthern Song Dynasty。In different contexts, since their own interests, Southern SongDynasty Governments changed their attitude between the restrictions and protection。SouthernSong Dynasty government accommodated the Reformed people and made use of their abilityservicing political power.The Reformed people played a huge role in Social development of the Southern SongDynasty。On defense,they constituted an important part of the Southern Song Dynastyarmy,Consolidated Government’s combat effectiveness.so In fighting foreign invasion andregaining lost ground war, they Play an important role. Besides, they also made a greatcontribution to regional development of the South. Their advanced production technology andexperience made a great contribution to the development of the Southern Song Dynastysociety and the transformation of the economic center from North to South in the SouthernSong Dynasty.
