There is over1/6of world’s population use Chinese as their first language; as the raise of China, learning Chinese become more and more popular in the world wide. When people are doing second language teaching, they are tried to find what the most effective teaching methods is. Music always has amazing effect in the class, therefore some teachers who teach Chinese as a Foreign Language use Chinese songs in their classes. The traditional Chinese poetry is very difficult in the Chinese teaching, not only because they were created in hundred years ago but also the words they used is not popular anymore. Unfortunately, we cannot avoid the poetry’s teaching in the class because the poetry is the essence of Chinese. However, now, more and more Chinese music producers are combine the poetry and pop music. Then I have a new idea:we can use the-poetry-pop-music in the class.I had been worked as a Chinese teacher in Thailand four months. After four months teaching and research, I have got a very reliable date. With concrete date, true surveys, analyzing and summarizing, this paper can prove that use the-poetry-pop-music in the class can help people in Thailand learn Chinese. All in all, I hope this teaching method will help Chinese become more and more popular not just in Thailand but in the world.This article includes the following parts:The first chapter is interdiction. At first, I introduce the origin, aim and meaning of this program. Secondly, I introduce the study inside and outside of China. Last but not least, introducing how do I do the research.The second chapter is the theory of using music in language teaching, which include in linguistics, musicology, psychology and education to determine how important music is in the second language teaching.The third chapter talks about how much poetry has already been made pop music and what will happen in the future. At the beginning, analyzed how the poetry and pop music combined. Second, find the reason why then can combine together. Then, get the perdition of future of combine pop music and traditional poetry.The forth chapter is the thought, experience and example in Thailand’s Chinese teaching. Include how important the traditional Chinese poetry is in the Chinese teaching; how to select the poetry and songs and some causes in the class. Therefore, I have very detail description in this chapter.The fifth chapter is Q&A that I did in Thailand. I use those dates and status get a result which is music can help students learn Chinese.The last, in conclusion summarize the achievements of the research.
