In recent years, many primary and secondary schools in Thailand have opened Chinese language courses. While for primary school-aged children, they still have difficulty in learning Chinese well. So how to grab their attention, stimulate their passion for learning Chinese in the Chinese classroom is critical. Chinese Songs are effective vehicle to help enhance students’ learning motivation and promote their Chinese language acquisition.so I want to know whether such a teaching method have been used in the Chinese classroom of Thailand’s primary school or not and how. This text will survey some Chinese teachers of Thailand’s primary school from four aspects:the attitudes and understanding of Chinese songs’ application in Chinese teaching, the choice of songs, the timing and frequency of songs’ application, the teaching implementation of Chinese songs. Then, I will do some research on the questionnaire results and analysis them with my own teaching practice. What I have done aims to fully know the true fact of Chinese songs assisting Chinese language teaching in the Thailand’s primary school and find the existence problems.There, what I talk about Chinese songs in the Primary School’s Chinese Language Teaching in Thailand actually refers to using Chinese songs to assist the Thai primary school’s Chinese language teaching as a teaching method; its main purpose is to increase the interest of Chinese language teaching. In general, when at the entry stage, Thai primary students’ knowledge of language learning is the most important,while language skills’ training is secondary, so Chinese songs there are used for teaching Chinese language’s pronunciation, vocabulary, sentence, grammar and culture. The case that using songs as a Chinese teaching material or for the music lesson do not belong to this scope.This article will first summarize the relevant theory and research, and then focus on how to apply Chinese songs to aid elementary school’s Chinese language teaching in Thailand. Secondly, I will conduct a questionnaire survey among primary school Chinese teachers from different regions of Thailand, which focus on the understanding of this teaching method application, especially when and how to apply Chinese songs. At the last, I will discuss the questionnaire results with my own teaching practice and summarizes the current existing problems.
