This thesis conducts an overall and systematical research into the history of Hasar and Hasar Ulus during the period of Mongol Empire and Yuan Dynasty.This thesis chiefly contains three parts:introductory part, the main body and the conclusion part. The introductory part relates briefly about the author’s motivation, research background, methodology and innovation. The main body includes four chapters. Chapter one introduces Hasar’s life experience and the contradiction between Hasar and Chinggis Khaan; the deeds of Hasar and the death year of him, as well as the relation between Hasar and Chinggis Khaan are highly controversial issues that needs exploring. Chapter two discusses the development of the Hasar Family during the period of Mongol Empire and the significance of the Hasar descendants’, such as Yeku and Yesunge’s fighting for the Khanate during the period of Mongol Empire. Chapter three discusses the deeds of the Hasar descendants during Yuan Dynasty focusing on analyzing the relationship between the Hasar Family and the Golden Family, as well as Lord Qi Babusha and his descendants’ deeds. Chapter four explores the formation of Hasar Ulus including the Hasar manor, tax forms and the ancient city. In the conclusion part, the author summarizes the issues of Hasar Ulus during the period of Mongol Empire and Yuan Dynasty and puts forwards his own views about it.
