Zhou Zuoren, one of the advocators and writers of new-vernacular literature in the May 4th Movement, is known for his various contributions to modern literature in China. To study him, many new methods and approaches are examined with the introduction, expansion and blending of different disciplines, but little has been attended to his contribution in editing and publication.The present paper tries to illustrate his distinguishing thoughts in editing from other rebellious enlighteners that influenced tremendously his contemporaries by focusing on his periodical editing from 1907 when New Life by Lu Xun came into being with his help to 1930 when Camel Grass started its publication and on the change in his writing and editing by comparing his representative editions Threads and Camel Grass. Explored and analyzed is the influence of his life outlook in the late 1920's on his writing and editing.
