From The Perspective Of Androgyny Theory To Analyze Xiao Hong’s Novels

Novel is the main direction of Xiao Hong’s creation. Her well-known masterpiecessuch as "Field of Life and Death", late recall work "The Biography of the HulanRiver", satirical novel "Ma Paul", artistic work "Small Town in March",etc, haveattracted many attention of researchers since the workpieces’ birth for more than70years. In Xiao Hong’s creation, it has the careful description of the female life as wellas strong characterization of the national revolution, meanwhile, birth, death, illnessand old age of men, women and children are vividly depicted in the creation of XiaoHong. Xiao Hong equally observed genders, wrote and reflected the male and female,depicting the genre paintings of rural northeast in the vicissitudes of national socialbackdrop. Female text and political text interwoven and coexist, constituting thewhole picture of Xiao Hong novel in harmony. Political text and gender text of thesame position in her creation and gender equality of Xiao Hong’s creation attitude,implies the British writer Virginia Woolf and her creative ideas "androgyny".Therefore, using "androgyny" theory, combining the political text and female texttogether of Xiao Hong’s masterpieces to have a comprehensive observation, are theresearch content of this paper. The existing achievements of research field on"androgyny" have a great help for us to appreciate Xiao Hong’s work on thisperspective.In conclusion, this paper uses androgyny theory to analyze Xiao Hong’s novel, inorder that clearly shows the characteristics of Xiao Hong’s novel andachievements.This paper firstly observes the enlightenment of androgyny theory tomodem and contemporary Chinese literature, secondly discusses the use ofandrogyny in creation of Xiao Hong, moreover, elaborates the evidence of androgynyin Xiao Hong’s novel, lastly by making a contrast between Xiao Hong and other twocontemporary female writers Ding Ling, Zhang ailing in1930s and1940s, tohighlight the personal characteristics of Xiao Hong’s creation.Xiao Hong walked into literary history because of political text, became part ofthe mainstream literature because of her left-wing literature writer identity, and sheattracted the new period Feminism Literature researchers’ attention because of thefemale text. When we comprehensively consider the duality of Xiao Hong’s works,the study of Xiao Hong shows unique significance because of richness.
