With the progress of the society, people desire a higher life quality and have anincreasing demand for life, thus promoting the development of porcelain with variousunique species. In this gradual process, the creation of the colorful porcelain typesdepends largely on the development of technology, on the political and economicsituation, and, to a greater extent, on the tastes and aesthetic requirements of the royalfamily, which exerts a significant effect on the shape, decoration and other aspects of theporcelain-makings.The porcelain-making in the Qing Dynasty is technologically mature, the peak ofwhich appears in the reign Emperor Qianlong (1735~1795), the craftsmanship ofporcelain firing reaching the highest level with its rich and colorful variety and exquisiteartistry of the production worldwide. The birth and boom of wall bottle serves as atypical event of the innovation as a result of the royal aesthetic culture of the Dynasty.First born in the reign of Xuande (1426—1435) and booming in the reign of Wanli(1573—1620) in the Ming Dynasty, the wall bottle is shaped like a semi-vase with richmodel and decorative breed diversification in the color of blue and white, multicoloredand blue glaze. To the Qing Dynasty witnessed mass production of wall bottle with a lotof unique shapes, reaching the highest level either in the decoration or in the process.This paper, starting from the aesthetic needs of the royal family, based on analysis andcomparison of the related information about wall bottle, explores the reasons of the fullyand richly decorated connotations of wall bottle, thus discovering the influence of thepalace taste on the ceramic development and innovation.
