The Study On The Aspect Mark Default Of News Headlines

In this paper, the study object mainly focuses on the reporting of the newspaper headlines of "People’s Daily" during2009. Through using comparative analysis and statistical analysis, we make a classification study on a lot of the default phenomena of the tense maker in the newspaper headlines, to attempt to explore and summed up the features of tense marker in newspapers headlines.The paper is divided into four parts:Chapter One:Introduction. First of all, a definition of the newspaper headlines is made. It mainly introduces at the headlines, the research of the aspect, and the status of the aspect mark research. Through the contrast between the reporting of news headlines and the names of News Headlines, it reveals a report on the characteristics of news headlines. In the normal language, the reporting of news headlines is more concerned about the events or the tense characteristics of the action. So the verb must have a tense marker behind it. This is why we make the research on the default of the tense maker in the reports be limited in the reporting of news headlines.The last explains the significance of this paper’s topic and its research methods.Chapter II:Chapter III:the aspect marks and the types of aspect marks.Divide the aspect marks into different types according to the analysis on the aspect marks from different angles. It provides a basis for the next chapter’s research.Chapterlll:Through statistic analysis, give specific descriptions of the use and omission about the five types of tense aspect marks in the reporting news headlines. At the same time, this paper also gives preparatory explanations about the kinds of phenomenonChapter IV:The analysis on the default motivations in the reporting news headlines. The introduction of a strong explanatory power of marked theory is mainly made to explain the tense aspect marks. The introduction pays particular emphasis on economic principles and iconicity principles.
