The nation’s traditional handicraft art needs to be people to know renewedly and protection. Dali WeiShan is one of Chinese tie-dye origin place where has significant national characteristics, its artistic language of tie-dye art closely combined with local culture, forming the unique art language, but also piece by piece losing the suitable soil and social environment in the great culture shock, the national culture characteristics also gradually weakened. According to solve such problem, this paper spread to investigate and discuss.This topic starts with WeiShan folk tie-dye handicraft, investigate and analyze development situation and history of WeiShan tie-dye art, combined with Dali WeiShan region characteristics, from design, color, texture, and so on to analyze its unique national characteristics of tie-dye art language. WeiShan tie-dye use herb dyeing, such as MaLi shell, water wax gourd, HuangLi bark, HeiTou grass and other natural dyes, has a long history, is especially valuable in today, so plants dyeing and process design is the key point. Second, good traditional handicraft can pass down, and realize the "active" inheritance of traditional technique, its artistic languages need to process new art promotion and organization, and combine with modern fiber art together, to expound the new philosophy of art, a new dyeing method, and design innovation, put the design concept of play style into the new artistic language expression in the creation of the hanging, thus achieved the "active" inheritance of traditional technique and the effect of bold innovation.
