Rural culture is an important part of building a new socialist countryside, it is also an organic part of the social culture. However, as China had a long period of feudal society, in the system of which farmers have been fettered by the feudal consciousness as well as the economic system. With various western cultures rushing into the rural areas, the rural culture got in a state of confusion, which has affected the development of China’s rural cultural. Therefore, it is quite essential and pressing to build a harmonious and healthy rural culture.As to the significance of constructing new socialist countryside, production development is the primary task. The ultimate goal of cultural construction in our country’s socialism new rural construction is to let people live a rich life. When the material life of the farmers is improved, the production development, the construction of new rural culture has become a very meaningful thing.This thesis starts with the connotation of culture and rural cultural meaning, elaborates the necessity, urgency and strategic significance of constructing new rural culture from the aspects of the current social economic and political background, the current era. It also analyzes the existing problems and discuss these problems from theoretical and practical views.
