The Comparison Between Chinese And Thai And The Research On Chinese Character Teaching In Thailand

Launched the Globle Chinese-learning, Thai Chinese learning crazlly continues to heat up.every year, there are many new schools open Chinese courses and the number of Chinese learners with a sharp increase. In this case, Chinese pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar have gradually deepened in teaching Chinese as a foreign language. In recent years, the characters of teaching Chinese has also been a lot of research. Chinese characters as a part of language acquisition is indispensable.It is not only an important part of learning Chinese, but also one of the difficulties can not be ignored.Therefore, I will base on the absorption of the previous research results, combine with my own teaching experience in Thailand. as well as questionnaires, analysis and so on, to research the initial stage of Chinese Characters in Thailand Teaching.Thai and Chinese belong to the Sino-Tibetan language, so their sound, vocabulary, grammar have some similarities. However, the two languages also have their own characteristics. For example, Thai language is alphabetie writing, language, the visual continuous string, is the linear language such as English and their sound can spell it out. Chinese is ideogram languege. Its history can dating back to5,000years ago. After a long process of evolution, Chinese characters’form gradually by the graphics into strokes constitute a record of events in the box-shaped symbol is an ideographic text. The pronunciation can not directly spell out, but with Chinese phonetic spelling, phonetic, and so on. Therefore, as a foreign language teachers need to fully understand the respective characteristics of Chinese and Thai, which is native Thai learners to learn Chinese properly reduce barriers. This paper focuses on a comparative study in Thai text features, the main analysis of the sound of Chinese, Thai, characteristics of writing, and teaching of Chinese characters, teaching practice and a questionnaire survey to find out the impact of the Thai students learning Chinese characters’difficulties and propose appropriate countermeasures. Finally, giving some recommendations for the Thai Chinese Characters Teaching.This study ultimately hope the Thai Middle School students can reduce barriers, quickly start learning Chinese characters and increase their interest in learning Chinese. Also hope to inspire and help the teachers in the Thai Chinese teaching.
