With the development of Chinese language and Confucius institutes/classrooms, more and more people get interested in learning Chinese. These years the number of overseas students increases rapidly and greeting in Chinese you can hear anywhere around world. The influences of Chinese language and Teaching Chinese as a Second Language grow. And at the same time, we gradually learn and develop our own method and system. However, different country has different culture background.Considering the requirements of different background, teaching Chinese as second language should focuses on how to teach in different country. I really appreciate that I have a chance to teach in St. Mary’s Confucius classroom in Southern Oregon in US this year. I learned some popular teaching method like Cooperative Language Learning Approach and Whole Language Approach from ESL (English as a Second Language). The article introduces the teaching cases and analysis of Cooperative Language Learning Approach and Whole Language Approach in Chinese teaching.at last, the author shows some suggestion and thinking on class activities.
