The paper studies the discourse markers in The Thunder Storm,a modern drama of classics. By the analysis of quality and quantity,the description of categories, the comparison and statistics, etc., itthoroughly and systematically described various discourse markersin the dialogues of the works. It aims at concluding andsummarizing the pragmatics of the discourse markers, discussingabout the factors which affect the uses of discourse markers in thedrama and about the lingual features of The Thunder Storm from theuses of discourse markers. One is the great variety andquantity. The other is a large usage of“personal pronouns plussense verbs”, similar to discourse markers. And the usage ofdiscourse markers embodies many features in The Thunder Storm ,such as colloquialism, individuation and the beauty of connotation,etc.
