With the development of industrialization,urbanization and the informationrevolution, social competition becomes increasingly fierce, internal reform ofenterprises deepens,and the operation of various work activities significantly speedup. All these make occupational stress of people more and more prominent. Armedpolice is a special service of the Chinese army and important human resources of thearmy. Excessive occupational stress is detrimental to people’s physical and mentalhealth and also has a negative impact on the organization. Occupational stress ofArmed Police is both related to the physical and mental health of the armed policesoldiers, and closely related to the combat effectiveness of troops. Therefore,deepening the study of occupational stress influence factors of armed police soldiersand their mechanism of action,has a great practical significance on helping ArmedPolice find effectively stress management strategy and scientifically alleviate thestress, thus promoting the mental health of the Armed Police and improving thecombat effectiveness.This study adopts questionnaire survey methods to measure 696 Armed Policemen.Based on this,we investigate the state of the armed police’s occupational stress andstudy the relationship among occupational stress, personality, social support andcoping style, arriving the following conclusions:(1) The whole level of the Armed Police’s occupational stress in our province is nothigh, and the top three are followed by personal development, special military life andeconomic pressure.(2) The two-way ANOVA of length of military service and educational degreeshows that there is an significant interaction between length of military service andeducational degree on personal development and role fuzzy .By further simple effect analysis and post-event analysis, we find that as to the Armed Policemen with morethan two years of military service, there are significant differences on personaldevelopment and role fuzzy. The score of Armed Policemen who have Junior Collegeand bachelor degree and technical school and high school degree is significantlyhigher than the junior high school degree and below on personal development and thescore of Armed Policemen with high school degree is significantly higher than otherson role fuzzy.(3) There are different kinds of correlations among personality dimensions,perceived social support, coping styles, occupational stress and its dimensions. Byfurther regression analysis, we find that psychoticism is the biggest personalitypredictor variable to personal development,and neuroticism is the most powerfulpersonality predictor variable to other dimensions and the total score of occupationalstress; The introversion-extroversion can negatively predict the total score ofoccupational stress and the dimensions such as personal development, role puzzle,leadership and interpersonal relationship; Neuroticism can positively predictdimensions such as job stress, marriage and family and special military life.(4) The perceived social support could moderate the effect of neuroticism. Excessiveperceived social support could enhance the impact of neuroticism on occupationalstress.(5) Negative coping style could partly mediate the effects of the neuroticism. That is,neuroticism could cause occupational stress partly through influencing negativecoping style.(6) The perceived social support could moderate the mediation of negative copingstyle. Excessive perceived social support could enhance the mediation effect of theperceived social support.
