| The selection of teaching material is an important aspect of language education. Good teaching materials should not only contain language knowledge, language skills Practice, but also include the introduction of the target culture. But now with great emphasis on language knowledge and skills in language education, teaching materials tend to pay less attention to the cultural aspect. In South Korea, Chinese language teaching is facing the same problem. A survey of the Chinese courses in three South Korean universities find that these courses place great importance on Chinese language skills training but ignore the introduction of the Chinese culture.Literature can comprehensively reflect culture, so if chosen properly, literary works can be used as teaching materials to train language skills while imparting cultural knowledge. Poetry is very suitable for such purposes, because they a short, lively and accessible, inf ormative. Classical Chinese poetry, due to its short length, strong sense of rhythm, rich themes and diverse characteristics, is particularly suitable to be used as Chinese teaching materials. This article, based on a detailed analysis of the specific features of the classical Chinese poetry, presents a set of criteria for the selection of classical Chinese poetry as teaching materials and illustrates the actual teaching process of these classical poems. |
