During the writing career of thirty years, Zhang Henshui created a large and complex and colorfulworld of literature with his outstanding artistic talent, which made him become a “Bully Character” ofmodern popular fiction and a “Master” of modern chapter novel. His novel is circulating wherever theChinese are. Therefore, researches on Zhang Henshui are used to focus on his novel writing. In his writings,a special character-“Yering”, is always acuuring. However, it hasn’t attracted wide attention so far, whichmust be a lack of researches with him. As a representative of Chinese pop art, actors impact on generalpopulation far beyond the class of “persons” group. For many years, opera has become an important wayfor people to receive education. If the opera is one of the textbooks for ordinary people, numerous actorsare served as a teacher for cultural renaissance. Drama folk was his lifelong hobby, so he was naturallyaware of this management. He intergrated drama factors into his many novels, and successfully createdmany images of many live actors. In addition, I found that he had many insights on the Yerling images ofthe Republic of China and the images’ artistic charm, emotional attitude, thought and personality and manyother aspects according to reading his related prose works. Before and after the May Fourth Movement, thecultural values were in a transitional stage, when the old cultural values were under severe impact and newcultural values hadn’t yet formed. Zhang Henshui also had a dual attitude with Yeling. In the impact of newideas, he tried to alienate the entertainment and tragic of ancient theater culture and change the old habit.However, as a literary man who accepted traditional culture during a long time, he had bias on the actorsconsciously, so he revealed a complex and contradictory emotional state. This article is focusing on thewriter’s own life experience, combining with the specific works to analyze and adding into writers’ theater critics and miscellaneous theory, in order to master Zhang Henshui’s personal Yeling Complex on thewhole.
