Qin’ge is one of the most traditional Chinese music art forms, it expresses plots as well asemotions by playing Guqin together with singing songs. As the development of music entering a new stage,the artistic value and charm and attractiveness of Qin’ge is still undeniable.Sir Zhenya Wang is a renowned Chinese composer, and he has been devoting his entire life onstudying the art of Qin’ge. By combining the rhythm of Qin’ge and western choral music, Sir Wang hassuccessfully adapted and created many new style choral works that carried his unique understandings ofboth forms of art, and managed to public A Collection of Qin`ge Style Choral Works. This new style ofchoral music has combined traditional Chinese music material together with western choral music,interpreting traditional Qin’ge with a new way and making Qin’ge available for more performance formsand occasions. Sir Wang’s effort of adapting choral music into Qin’ge has opened up the doors for modernpeople to better understand the art and the spirit that was given by the ancients. The creation of this newstyle choral work not only digs out the cultural connotations of Qin’ge itself, but also opens up a new wayof developing traditional Chinese civic music culture.This article will discuss the way of adaption and specialties for Qin’ge style Choral works bystating the history of Qin’ge and analyzing western choral music’s. The study objects will be therepresentative works chosen from A Collection of Qin`ge Style Choral Works of Sir Zhenya Wang’s; and themain body of the article will be referring to an interview with Sir Zhenya Wang. The purpose of this articleis, by researching and studying Sir Wang’s work, to better understand the style of Qin’ge choral music andthe connotations of the music, so that more theories can be better applied to practice.
