The lovely image of modern mascot is popular for its exaggeration, humor, and the nature of being close to people, giving people a unique affinity with feelings to shorten the distance between people and enterprises, as well as event organizers. Animation is featured in creativity, exaggeration and humor, taking advantages in image design, form of expression, cultural transmission, and the economic value.Mascot design in China starts late, and has many problems. For example, mascot design and the brand’s core values do not match. The design of image is too simple and naive, flat, mostly motionless state, less follow-up research. There are also problems in the introduction, management, development and promotion. The author tries to improved and solve the above problems by using animation language in mascot design, making the mascot more interesting, funny to attract the audience to interact, to give the mascot continued vitality of the industry and rich content meaning. The mascot combining with animation language design and communication provides the advertising industry a new form of expression.This article applies mainly documentary research, case studies, interview, survey and practical method to study, starting from the development of the mascot, modern mascot and animation for comparative analysis, discusses the animation language in the use of the mascot design implementation, and summarizes the prospects for the development of animation language in the use of the mascot design, and put forward their own views:firstly, the animation can give the mascot a vivid personality and cultural characteristics to enhance their cultural values and the value of the estate; Secondly, the image of the mascot becoming three-dimensional movement from two-dimensional and static expands a form of expression and publicity coverage of the mascot; thirdly, mascot animation has irreplaceable advantages in the promotion and marketing.This article is divided into five parts:The first part focuses on the purpose and significance of this topic, research status and methods.
