The secondary normal students were born in the1990s with the rapid development of network information technology. They are responsible for the teachers of future primary school and kindergarten school. They grow up with development of modern information society. Network becomes their indispensable lifestyle in their daily life. It expands their vision greatly, and also enables them to share happy life which the scientific advancement brings to people.With the expansion of economic globalization, lot of different cultures and viewpoints of value come into China and China’s contemporary culture becomes increasingly diverse.90s students grow up in such a social environment, on one hand, their international horizons will be broadened so that their growth is also a wide range of positioning under the influence of culture and thought; on the other hand, they will also accept some strong influence of popular culture trends and generate new thinking from the choice of values. At the same time, their choices will be accompanied by confusion, and highlights the values and behavior of their more modern life of the times.In order to fully grasp the characteristics of students and understand students’ characteristics in deep, the issue makes a research of Secondary Normal School students born in1990s from the perspective of cultural identity. Through the teaching practice of Secondary Normal School students born in1990s, to research for the art teaching reform which is suitable for Secondary Normal School students born in1990s; with a combination of cultural characteristics of teaching cases, to think for the future and development of the art teaching and to further the teaching concept for people-oriented sustainable development approach to teaching. The core of culture is the problem of values and behavior. The deep spirit of culture is concept, ideals, beliefs, values, thinking and ethical content, and value is the core. Under the specific content of school, student culture refers to students group who forms the pursuit of learning aim, the feeling of learning spirit, the frame of learning mode and formation of learning way, which takes the value as the core. Or we can say, student culture refers to one or some groups of students who have the unique conduct, verbal expression and values posed by life. The cultural characteristics of Secondary Normal School students born in1990s are very different from previous generations of students; from the perspective of cultural identity in the90characteristics of teachers and students can further more comprehensive grasp of the students the values, outlook on life and behavior.The cultural identity of Secondary Normal School students born in1990s represents in the following three aspects:First, characteristics of personality:they have strong personality; they are passionate, rebellious because they had grown up in a good time, they did not go through tough baptism, they are simple, kind and not cunning, they are hopeful and confused for the future. Their personalities make people pay attention to them and they are the hope and future for China. Secondly, characteristics of learning:they are active, good at learning, easy to accept new things; this is one of their main characteristics. Thirdly, characteristics of innovation:they are naturally curious, divergent innovation, the pursuit of freedom from the shackles of tradition; their puppy love, they love online, because they are full of fantasy, they are the China’s sustainable development seeds.In order to further implement the Party’s education concept of people-oriented and sustainable development, facing the cultural identity of Secondary Normal School students born in1990s, the art education reform of normal school must seriously study and analyze the response to the cultural identity of the object of teaching strategies; with the object of teaching characteristics of the times, the art education reform of normal school must update the concept of teaching, renew the teaching concept, reform the teaching methods and content, pay attention to student’s interest and they will be happy to accept the teaching form and content, care for physical and mental development of students and study the with the sustainable development of teaching strategies which is suitable for the cultural identity of Secondary Normal School students born in1990s.
