In order to make foreign students avoid the communicativeembarrassment caused by the lack of language taboos, teaching Chinese asa foreign language and the language taboos teaching research are veryessential. In this paper, language taboos are divided into threecategories: taboo language, non-language taboo, and zero language taboo.Zero language taboo is one type which the author proposed, and itsmanifestations are blank and ellipsis. This proposed new type aims to makelanguage taboos no longer difficult to classify, and let the categoryboundaries more clear.This article takes Happy Chinese: an Audiovisual Oral Chinese Coursefor Intermediate and Advanced Students.1published by Peking UniversityPress as material, excerpting21language taboos, and unifies theclassroom and the extracurricular teaching environment, with the sametime to put forward jingle form and imitate form as the core teachingform.In addition, the author also suggests that language taboosexaminations could not simply interspersed in the general examinationpaper, it even ought to set up an exclusive test content, and takes thetwo-in-one form which includes written examination and interview toexamine foreign students’ listening and speaking capability.
